Description

“Peach Blossom Spring is the story of a fisherman who one day discovered a cave which led to a valley with peach trees blooming. The people there had come many years ago to escape the civil wars raging over the land. After staying a while the fisherman went home. He could never find the cave again.” This story has frequently been the subject of paintings by countless artists over the centuries—a dream of immortality in a paradise secluded from the world’s turmoil.

A color painting based on one by the Chinese artist Shitao (石濤 1642-1707) as a way of learning from his style.
