Description

A small color painting based on an original by the Qing dynasty Chinese painter Mei Qing (梅清 c1623–1697) as a way to learn from his style. In the original a scholar stands on the bridge; I substituted the paddleboarder. “Pinxit” in the inscription is Latin for “painted by” and is often found on early American and European paintings. The number in the lower left is from a former inventory system.
